NGV Annual Appeal

This year, the NGV is seeking your support to help us add Yayoi Kusama’s extraordinary work, Narcissus Garden to the Gallery’s Collection.

Support the appeal

Yayoi Kusama is one of the world’s most celebrated living artists. With a career spanning more than eight decades and still practising at 95 years of age, Kusama is one of the world’s most inspiring and fascinating contemporary artists.

Tracing Kusama’s early life in Matsumoto, Japan, through to her time spent in New York in the 1950s and 1960s, and her ascendance to twenty-first century global art icon, this self-guided online course introduces the astonishing breadth of this multidisciplinary artist’s work.

This course presents weekly readings and videos, guided by NGV curators and specialist educators, providing the unique opportunity to learn about Yayoi Kusama’s indelible contribution to twentieth and twenty-first century art.

Presented alongside the major exhibition Yayoi Kusama, on display until 21 April.

Complete the course in your own time. Access to the course will be available from 10am on Friday 28 February.
