Italian Style – See, Think, Create

Mon – Fri, 10am, 12.30pm
Levels 3-10
NGV International

Connect students to centuries of Italian culture, creativity and innovation – from Roman antiquities and Italian Renaissance paintings to cutting-edge contemporary Italian design. After viewing and discussing a range of Italian works in the Gallery with an NGV educator, students will participate in a hands-on activity in the NGV studio, experimenting with elements of art, design principles, and techniques inspired by Italian art and design to create their own unique design for an everyday domestic object with Italian style.

Cost: $24 per student
Duration: 2 hours

Format: In-Gallery discussion and studio workshop

Students will:

  • Identify and analyse different styles and techniques in Italian art and design.
  • Discuss the cultural and historical contexts of works of Italian art and design.
  • Create an original design that incorporates elements, design principles and/or techniques inspired by Italian art and design.

Supported by the Italian Australian Foundation.
