What are the qualities of a great leader? How do artworks communicate inspiring stories of faith, courage and integrity? In this NGV educator-led session, students will discover and respond to artworks and stories of remarkable individuals and biblical figures who have shown inspiring determination, leadership and commitment to faith at critical times throughout history.

Students will:

  • Examine artworks that portray the lives, stories and dispositions of inspiring individuals.
  • Analyse and interpret ideas, meanings and messages communicated in artworks from different times, cultures and contexts.
  • Evaluate the contemporary relevance of meanings and messages expressed in historical works of art.

 

This program is suitable for sacramental and religious education.

Program Selection

Please provide details of any relevant themes and skills your students are learning about at school. While we cannot offer individually tailored programs, our museum educators will consider this information when selecting and discussing works of art during the program.

Date Selection

We recommend you provide three date options for your program to avoid disappointment. We will do our best to accommodate your first preference, however due to high demand this may not always be possible.
