It’s free to enter the NGV and see the Collection but visitors need to buy a ticket to attend the Kimono exhibition.

Exhibition tickets have a time listed for you to enter the Kimono exhibition. Once you have entered the exhibition you can stay for as long as you wish, or until the Gallery closes at 5pm.
Children of all ages are warmly welcomed in the Kimono exhibition.
The Kimono exhibition is closed during NGV Friday Nights events.

The NGV recognises the Companion Card and the Carer Card.
Companion Card holders receive concession priced tickets to all exhibitions and programs for themselves, and a complimentary ticket for their companion.
Complimentary tickets for the companions can be collected from the Information Desk on Ground Level and do not need to be booked in advance even if tickets are sold out for that session.
Carer Card holders receive concession priced tickets to all exhibitions and programs.
Kimono is on display on the Ground Level of NGV International.
The entrance to NGV International is on street level and has an automatic door.
There is a lift from the Arts Centre Melbourne carpark to the NGV International entrance.
The exhibition and all public areas in the NGV, including the Gallery Kitchen, Garden Restaurant and NGV design store, are wheelchair accessible.

There are accessible and gender-neutral bathrooms on all levels of NGV International.
Baby change facilities are available with a dedicated parents’ room which provides a quiet space for families plus private feeding space and a microwave.

A Changing Places bathroom is located nearby, approximately 300 metres from NGV International, at Arts Centre Melbourne’s Hamer Hall
Accredited assistance dogs are welcome at the NGV.
Please ensure your assistance dog is wearing their jacket or harness while at the Gallery.
Access aids including self-regulation fidget devices, magnifying sheets and coloured overlays are available for free hire.

The Kimono exhibition includes historical and contemporary costume and fashion accessories, as well as paintings, posters, wood block prints, design manuals and decorative arts.
There is no nudity, adult themes or sensitive content depicted in the displays.
The exhibition has low light levels and dark-coloured walls. The flooring surfaces are bluestone and laminate.
The sensory map shows the locations of audiovisual content, sensory elements and seating, and can help you prepare for your visit.
Gallery spaces are air-conditioned and are between 20 and 24 degrees Celsius.
Bench seating is available in each gallery space of the exhibition.
Lightweight fold-out stools are available for free hire from the Information Desk and can be taken into the exhibition spaces.
Relaxed sessions are an opportunity for visitors who would benefit from a quieter Gallery experience to access the exhibition with fewer people and reduced sensory stimuli. This may include people with autism, disability, dementia, mental health or chronic illness. All ages are welcome. Booking is required.
